The private rooms are excellent. Very spacious, comfortable and modern. There is a desk and a balcony. Showers are good. The whole place is also very nice with a fantastic pool and a pool table. Not so good is the location, it's very far away and when the hostel organises a tuktuk for you it's much more expensive than even tourist price. Wifi is not great. Not very sociable. They also have a fully stocked bar, but can't make any drinks, not even Rum+coke, just bottled beer.

Good atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly. Location is great. The private room is a bit basic, though. The AC is very loud and the room does not have a window, even though one of the walls faces outside. Water also smells a bit weird.

They blast music at 100 decibel in the only common area, the bar, until 1am. It's so loud, that I could clearly hear it in my room two floors below the bar. They claim it's because they are a "party hostel", but party hostels are social, at MM you can't even talk to anyone without literally screaming. Drinks and food are okay. The hostel itself has a bit of prison vibe. It's reasonably clean, although the hallways have a weird smell. My room was also quite moist. Had no issues with WiFi.
Hi there, thank you for detailing your experience during your stay. We apologize if you did not enjoy your time here. We follow the standard decibel that measures the loudness of the music in the property - music is expected to heard in other floors from 6pm to 1am but our common areas are still open during the day to deeply interact with other guests. Thank you for staying with us and we hope for your safety on the rest of your trip!

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! Yes, it is a party hostel, but the party is contained to the rooftop and eventually they make everyone go out. So it is actually quiet in the rooms. The dorms feature curtains, individual lights, outlets and a towel. The AC in the rooms is silent. WiFi is top notch. The rooftop has nice views over Coron Bay. Food and drinks are amazing. Staff is great and really get people together for activities, which makes Outpost very social.

There was nothing really wrong with Spin, but for the price that they are charging for private rooms, the room was just a little bit too basic. You can get nicer rooms at hotels for less. Free breakfast was ok, but once again not really amazing so that it would warrant the price tag.

Perfect! Beds have curtains, individual lights, outlet, huge locker with USB-charging, free towel rental, earplugs available at reception. Clean. Location is great, there is a rooftop terrace+bar, social atmosphere incl. events, hostel nicely decorated. This is what Hostels should be like.
Dankeschön Max! It was great having you here at the hostel and we're glad that you enjoyed your stay. We hope that you'll find your way back to Abraham again on your next trip to Manila. Cheers!

Pretty good. I stayed in a private room, but due to the rooftop bar it was super easy to meet people. The atmosphere is great and the staff friendly. However, the private room was very basic and small. There was almost no water pressure in the shower and the bathroom door didn't even close properly. Not very good value for money.

Very weird place. Basically the whole outdoor area turns into a very expensive bar half the day with mostly external guests, so there isn't really any common area other than the lobby, which also serves as the entrance to the bar. It's also a big place with lots of people, but no activities or anything. It's a strange vibe. The place itself is very old and used up, like so used up that my phone charger kept falling out of the outlet. Also, the windows in the rooms don't open, no fresh air!
Thank you for your review. Bit of a bummer to read your review and to see that we missed the mark on your visit. 😞 This certainly isn't the level of service we wish to provide to our guests here at Freehand. Please know that we are taking your points on board and will rectify the situation in the future. We would love for you to give us another chance next time.

The best hostel I have stayed in in Costa Rica. Everything is great (location, staff, athmosphere, cleanliness, wifi, outlet for every bed), but I especially loved the platforms in the dorms compared to bunk beds. No shaking, no squeaking and they greatly increase floor space for bags and stuff like that.

It's a decent budget hostel. Beds could be less shaky and more comfortable, bathrooms could be cleaner, but overall there is nothing wrong with it. However, it's not actually a budget hostel, infact the prices are among the highest I've ever paid for a hostel. There is absolutely nothing that justifies these prices. There is nothing premium or special about La Posada, it's just ok.
Hi how are you? Thank you for taking the time to help us improve our service, our prices are like the other hostels here in Santa Teresa :) pura vida!

HORRIBLE! This place has the worst bed that I ever attempted to sleep in. The mattress is made out of plastic and is very uncomfortable. The bunk beds are tiny and about to fall apart. They squeak so loud with every little movement that even ear plugs don't help. There is no AC and only minimal ventilation, the tiny room is like a sauna, which is made even worse by the fact that you are lying on plastic. No sleep possible, so I had to leave early, but got no refund.

The best place that I have stayed in all of Egypt! Beds are comfortable and private with a big locker and a power point. Everything is very clean, spacious, showers are also warm with good pressure. There is free breakfast and it's also quite social. Wi-Fi ain't great, but that's true everywhere in Egypt unfortunately.

Really nice hostel in the very center of Cairo. You get your own little pod with a curtain. The mattress could be better, but I really liked the international plugs in every pod. Good lockers, too. Staff is amazing and there is free breakfast! Might not be right for you, if you are very noise sensitive, though.

It's obviously a party hostel, drinking and going out every night. Very social, everyone eats together every night. Rooms are ok. Surprisingly quiet. The pods with curtains are really nice. Floor space is a bit tight if everyone has a bag and my room smelled a bit funny. Would totally recommend.

The place itself is great. Spacious, super-clean rooms. Nice beds with lockers, a light and a plug. The co-working space is amazing. BUT the atmosphere is very anonymous. It's a very large hostel, they don't do any social activities (just movies), have banned alcohol for some reason and there is no natural gathering area where people could meet, just loads of individual chairs. It's such a shame, it could be a good hostel, they even have a bar, but inexplicably don't use it.

Terrible! The rooms are absolutely tiny. Windows out to an extremely noisy pub street with 0 sound insulation, it's like having a live guitar player in your room all night. The bathrooms are filthy and broken. There are not enough outlets in the room to charge everyone's phone. It's also a massive place with two big buildings packed tight, so pretty anonymous.

After reading the comments, I was worried if this was going to be a bit of a hippie hostel. But quite the opposite actually. Los Amigos is super-clean and well maintained. There is a big yard with nice decorations and a pool. Comfy sofas make for a very social hangout area every night, it's very easy to meet people. Everyone is super friendly. Wi-Fi is lightning fast (like 300-400 Mbit/s)! The only caveat is the remote location, you will need a car. Still a solid 10, though.

I stayed in a private room. It's a very nice hostel, with fancy and modern rooms. The room is big, clean and the bed comfortable. Location isn't super great, but ok. The staff is friendly and helpful. Super fast Wi-FI! Fresh air is a minor problem though, the room only has one window that only opens a crack and the bathroom has neither windows nor vents.
Dear guest, Thank you for staying with us and for giving your opinion about your stay. We are glad that in general we were capable of meeting your expectations and that our renovated building, our spacious rooms with big and comfortable beds, our friendly staff and our wi-fi made your stay with us something even more special. Regarding the ventilation in the room. As this rooms are in the garden area, in a ground floor, the window only opens on the top of it to provide the necessary ventilation. All of our rooms are equipped with brand new air conditioners for cool and heat to provide the best ambience in the room. In any case we do apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused you and hope this little issue won´t be impeditive for staying with us again in the near future. It was a pleasure to meet you! Kind regards, Gallery Hostel team

Overall a good hostel. Everything is very clean and the staff is friendly. There also is a bar downstairs, which isn't that great to hang out in, but has cheap beer and burgers for guests. The atmosphere isn't that great though, it's very big and anonymous. This also isn't helped by the fact that they had to cancel all events because of Corona. The location is very central with lots of shops around. A bit 'ghetto' with lots of suspect people outside, but it's also very busy, so no need to worry
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We hope our hostel events will be back soon and that social distancing will be a story of the past very soon!

The hostel staff threw away half my stuff, when they cleared out my bed a day too early! Stuff that was clearly still being used and expensive to replace, just took it from my locker. Never got it back. I also had a crazy old man in my room, who was a bit hostile at times. Other than that, everything in the hostel is pretty old but working, reasonable clean, Location is awesome! But overall it's a bit overpriced for what it is, and that's not even taken the crazy stuff into account.

Overall a good experience. Rooms are clean with very comfy beds and AC. The atmosphere is amazing, you will get to know everyone staying there. Friendly staff. We couldn't lock our dorm room (even with the key) and staff is not always there, so sometimes the whole hostel sits abandoned in the forest, with the doors open. Also all water is salt water, so you don't really feel very refreshed after a shower, but I think that is a common problem on Lembongan. Would recommend this hostel!

Excellent hostel. Very nice location on rooftop overlooking the volcano, right next to the beach and all the shops. They clean everyday and are super helpful with everything. Beds are comfy and shower and toilet are good as well. There are lockers in the room and breakfast is also included. Due to everybody being in the same room, it is fairly social. Obviously you can't expect a 5-star hotel for 7,50$ a night, but for a budget hostel it's a really good choice.

Very good hostel! Beds are good, with a privacy curtain, lockers, plug and shelf. Everything is clean. Staff is very friendly. It was also quite social when I was there. The whole place feels very cozy. There is some noise from the outside at night, but it's not too bad. However, unless you want to go to bars on K-Road, the location is a bit far from everything.

Very nice hostel! Modern, clean, good atmosphere, big common areas. If you're lucky, you can even get a double bed in the dorm rooms. Maybe add some more sinks in the toilets, there were always queues to use the one sink. But that's a minor issue

Overall it's a really good place, I will likely come again! The bed construction allows for some privacy. There is a hot tub, nice common areas, good location. Friendly staff. It's clean, although bathroom had some minor issues, shower head was leaking more than showering, sink almost completely blocked, but overall bathrooms are good, too. TO MANAGEMENT: Please have earplugs available at reception, either free or for sale. This really is a basic for every hostel... (because of snorers)

I had a private room for one night. The room is basic and small, but has everything you need (shower, towel, tv, AC, good wifi, toothbrush, international outlet). Bed could have been better, but overall I had a good sleep. The hostel doesn't seem to be very social, as it is spread out over different floors of the building and the small common area is on level two (so you don't go through there automatically). Was good for the one night to rest.
Thanks for the review! See you next time ;)

Lovely and pieceful hostel smack in middle of a crowded, crazy street in the city centre. It's very clean, has a good social atmosphere. The rooms are very small, but I think thats more due to HK than the hostel. Only negative thing are the beds, they are a little uncomfortable and squeaky. Every bed has a lockable "cage" and an outlet. If you have trouble finding it, look for "Red Lips Bar" on the ground floor.

This place is completely uninhabitable. Its freezing in the rooms! There is no heating at all, the old windows and walls hold no warmth in and the room doesn't get any sun during the day, so its literally colder than outside (8 degrees at night). When asked, the girl at reception was very rude and unwilling to do anything about it. Avoid this place like the plague! Besides the cold, wifi and common area were good, but only 2 lockers for a 4-bed-room and duvet covers not washed between guests.
HI there Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. Yes you are correct there is no heating in the upstairs rooms at Backpack OZ and we are sorry that you had a (cold) negative experience during your stay. It was unfortunate that the staff member didn't offer you a second duvet. We spoke to the other three guests in you room and they said the temperature was fine. Good hostel, atmosphere is great! people drinking and partying every night. Its not very noisy at night, because they lock everyone out at a certain time and move to another bar together. But I couldn't really sleep that well, because of light in the room and an uncomfortable and squeky bed.

Solid 10! Clean, nice beds, spacious rooms, lockers+room keys, nice common areas, rooftops, friendly people. Unfortunately when I was there, I was the only non-French in the whole building, but I think this place could be quite sociable when the crowd is a little more diverse.
<3, thanks for your amazing review. Haha, yes, the only non-French at that moment! I remember we even cooked French crèpes ! Glad it hasn't affected your overall experience of the place as it was exceptional and we can't plan on those things, the more diverse it is the happier we are, that's why it's called Da Blend, because it is a blend, a mix of many cultures. Security is really an issue here! You cant lock the rooms, they are just always open and the lockers are also completely useless! The intended way to lock them doesn't work at all and its difficult to lock them any other way. Even if they are "locked", you can just lift up the mattress on top and takr stuff out. If that sounds too stressful, the force of a 3-year-old is probably all it takes to break the whole thing apart. Dont come to this hostel if you have stuff that you dont want to loose.
Dear guest, thank you for your comment. If you have valuable things, please give at reception area. we have safe box at reception open 24/24 for you. If you have any issue during your stay, please speak to any of staff member, we're always there willing to help.

A bit of a disappointment! The place itself is really nice, Brand new, clean, nice pool & bathrooms, lockers. But the people and atmosphere there are very annoying. Its mostly groups of teenagers getting drunk. And they play horrible music constantly, even in the bathrooms. Everything is very overpriced, not only the rooms. But also drinks, food, scooters... Not worth the money really.
Thank you for the review as we value all guest feedback. While it's great to hear that you appreciated the cleanliness and security features, it disappoints to learn that you didn't enjoy your stay as much as most guests. We hope you can understand that our drinks do cost a bit more than some locals bars but this is because we only serve real alcohol rather than cheap ethanol based alternatives. Also the hostel menu consists of local dishes for as cheap as 40K ($1.75 USD) and home comfort food which so cost a bit more due to having to import certain ingredients. Hope you're still traveling. All the best, Alaysia MacPherson General Manager

Decent hostel, but a bit cramped and no atmosphere. Pros: - good beds - private - reasonably clean - wifi ok Cons: - cramped, basically just beds and a tiny lobby. No common areas or anything. - lockers are moist - staff is a bit weird. He tried to sell me a SIM for 12usd, although there is a phone store down the road with sim-cards for 6. When I left, they made me fill out a form about my stay, I first didnt fill out the review part, but he insisted. When I ticked "average" he seemed upset

I strongly recommend NOT to stay at this place! The hostel is spread out over several appartments throughout the street. So if you want to go to reception/common area/vending machine you will haveto cross the street. It was very cold in our room and the guy refused to turn on the heat. The Wifi was very bad, you basically have to leave your room and sit next to the router if you want internet. The whole place was a little bit disgusting, the sheets smelled and the shower head was covered in mold.

This place is a bit strange, but ok for a couple of nights. Crowd is very mixed. People travelling through, party-goers, older people. No AC, no lockers and the place is in the middle of nowhere. Super-clean, super modern, amazing people! The hostel also has an amazing rooftop with good views of the CBD and is perfectly located at the central station. We were there for Christmas and NYE, so there was a big program going on. Rooms are good, AC, big lockers with outlets. The rooms are spacious. only a couple of negative things: The windows in the rooms do NOT open. There are only 4+4 washers/dryers for a big hostel and even those are often occupied by staff. Overall: Very Good!
