Went to stay an extra night but the guy tried to charge me more for a night than my indian friend.

Booked in for 1 night. Stayed 3 weeks... this hostel is for a particular style of traveller. It's located away from all the tourist stuff, up the mountains. Everyone cooks and pitches in washing dishes. This is a home from home... and chinnu the dog is the best!

This is called the retreat because that's exactly what it is. You get the bus or drive down to the beach - enjoy your day, have a few beers and come back to this sanctuary away from the noise! Staff are friendly and the place is super clean... 100% recommend.

Rock hostel? Should be called co*k hostel. Serious dude-fest! All jokes aside, this is a fantastic hostel. Near the subway, staff are helpful & usually something happening at night. Breakfast was basic - bread & jam. But what do you expect for that price. Kitchen gets a bit cramped too. But the beds are comfortable and clean. Would recomend.

This place is as much fun as owning a goldfish. Zero atmosphere, but that's montivideo all over. Staff were great and beds were clean. Good enough cooking facilities. Just very boring if you're on your own...

Absolutely smashing breakfast! Pool is clean, beds are clean. They told us to stop playing guitar past 12 o clock every night. Annoying for us but good for other people... Cooking facilities are very basic but if you're only there for a night or two (which most people are) there is plenty of nice restaurants quite close. Staff are cool as well. I'd just like to mention the breakfast again - amazing!

Staff were great. It's a little bit far from centro which is where it's happening at night but taxis are cheap. Breakfast was good but in desperate need of butter for the bread & egg in the morning. There's a man outside the hostel that sells freshly squeezed orange juice. I got one every morning... Really cool place to stay. You can relax if you want or there's always someone up for a drink. I give it 5/7. 👍

Average hostel. There's nothing that stands out about it but there's nothing particularly special about it either. No breakfast and the kitchen is in bits. Also the first time I ever seen 3 tier bunk beds! Good central location and they do a door to door bus for your next hostel.

Easy to find. Within walking distance from the bus station. Good location. Staff were very helpful. Not much atmosphere in the hostel but plenty to do around it...

Booked in for 2 nights and ended up staying for 7. This place is brilliantly placed, right beside the markets and centro. Aaron - the owner, was very warm & welcoming. Lots of information on where you want to go and he speaks perfect English... Best bed I've slept in in South America. Great vibe & great atmosphere. 100% would recommend.

Wasn't the worst place I've been in but no where near the best. The view from the hostel was a giant pile of rubbish. The bin in the bathroom never got changed. I stayed for 5 nights... Most of the staff were nice except for one woman who refused to speak to me because I couldn't speak perfect Spanish. I had to explain (in Spanish) to someone else and they would have to say it to her. Something you could teach a monkey. So she's either slower than a monkey or just that ignorant.

Lovely, helpful staff. Breakfast was quite good but you had to cook it yourself. I wanted to steal that dog. Coolest dog ever!

This is the perfect hostel - if I or don't mind the ant & cockroach infestation, water damage on the walls and ceiling, the smell of sewage coming in the hole in the wall in the bathroom, nobody ever on reception and unfriendly restaurant staff. Music plays until 4 in the morning and then a bloody chicken starts at 5! We all get that one hostel while traveling that's just an absolute nightmare. Don't let this one be yours...

First hostel I've seen in SA that doesn't have bunk beds. Funky little hostel with a Greek feel to it. Great staff (that speak English) and brand new patio furniture - they literally bought it today... There's a tree in the garden that a humming bird visits several times a day. Most nights there's people from all nationalities sitting around talking and drinking wine. Only downside is it's a little far from everything and it's all uphill! But there's everything you need in surrounding shops :)

Nice hostel to chill out in before/after Machu Pichu. Good cooking facilities but outdoors so not so clean. It's up top of a mountain so bring your hiking boots to get to it (there is steps). Beds are clean. Staff are helpful.

Non stop fun and drinking. This is a party hostel, not for the faint hearted. The beautiful Stefanie behind reception is very helpful & informative. Food is excellent and drinks. Relatively cheep as well. 100% would recommend!

Bit of a shock getting off the bus in the middle of the desert. But 1 phone call and they pick you up. This is a chill hostel. If you want anything done, expect it done tomorrow. Great location to watch the sun/moon rise & set. BBQ was awesome, ridiculously cheap and loads of beer, wine & some other crazy drink. Not too much food but enough... Got insanely drunk @ BBQ and tried to pay 10 times the amount for BBQ (didn't quite understand the money) and they handed me back proper change.Fair play
