Situated in a beautiful bay at the beach, HI Hostel Pula (old name Youth Hostel) is the perfect place to stay in Istria. Local attractions range from Pula's Roman ampitheatre to the Brijuni Island National Park 15km away. There are 120 beds in the 6-bed and 8-bed dormitories, 64 beds in the 4-bed mobile-home rooms. 2/2-bedded and 2/4-bedded rooms with aircon in the new pavilion. This is really a nice hostel right on the beach. I was lucky to have a room with the window facing the sea (a few meters from it) and there's something about that: hearing the sound of the waves to go to sleep/wake up..It's set up like a little village and I loved it. The girl at the front desk is delightful (thank you for everything !). There are many beaches nearby as well as a sunset hotspot. You can get to the old town quickly by bus, I didn't need a cab once.

Location was perfect if you want a beach vacation, however, if you’re looking to stay close to the city centre, it’s a little far.
Staff was incredibly friendly, especially the guys working in the bar/kiosk area!
The hostel used keys, but not everyone locked the door after them. No lockers in the room. So if you have valuables, bring them with you or leave them in the reception.
The rooms were mostly clean, but a few nights in, there was a lot of ants in the room.
