Located close to the bus station and a bit outside of the city center (believe me, it's better this way). The owners are very helpful, always available. The patio is very agreable, with several chairs, tables and chirping birds. The kitchen is large and well equiped, with a place to sit down and eat as well. You can buy bottled water on site. Rooms are cleaned every day. There is a locker for valuables in each room. Showers with hot water, but finding perfect temperature is tricky.

La Casa de Matilde is run by a friendly family who keep the place spotlessly clean. Although they do not speak any English we were able to communicate with Google translate and our very limited Spanish. A 10 minute walk from the Main Street of San Pedro de Atacama the hostel is quiet and has a very relaxed feel with a nice shaded courtyard to read or rest. They do not serve breakfast but have a well equipped kitchen where you can prepare any meals. Showers had lots of hot water.
