Hostelworld-gæster sammenligner ofte Stayokay Amsterdam Oost (Zeeburg) med et hotel og siger, at det er rummeligt og rent og serverer en meget rost morgenmad med "æg, ost, skinke, friskpresset appelsin-/æblejuice" og meget mere. Besøgende fortæller os, at vandrerhjemmet "har fremragende sporvogns- og busforbindelser, og alle hovedattraktioner er på samme sporvognslinje", hvilket siger, at det er omkring 10 minutter med sporvogn fra selve centrum af Amsterdam. Vi kan godt lide, at der er en læselampe og stikkontakt ved hver sovesal, med indretning, der er blevet beskrevet som "smuk og moderne og ... godt passet på".

This new HI hostel is situated east of the centre in a typical Amsterdam neighbourhood. The city's must-see attractions are but a fifteen-minute cycle or tram trip away. The tram stops only 200m from here, putting us just 10 minutes from Rembrandt Square.
You can take a tour of the canals by boat, visit world-famous museums or head off shopping along the colourful Kalverstraat - and there's always plenty to do at the hostel in the evening!
We?re housed in an amazing building, a former school dating from around 1900. This enables visitors to enjoy the ultra-modern facilities in classical settings.
Our hostel is ideally suited to accommodate (large) groups, providing access to various multifunctional areas within the building.
The bedrooms are all spacious and feature private sanitary facilities. All rooms are designed by the famous Dutch designer Edward van Vliet.
Our hostel also has its own cafe/restaurant and will be sharing the building with a cinema and theatre - a truly fantastic entertainment combination!
You can rent a bicycle right our reception desk.
Stayokay is part of the Hostelling International organization. Hostelling International members receive a discount of ?2.50 per night. All Stayokay hostels have the European Eco-label.
City tax is not included, please pay upon arrival (6% per night).

Nice beds, toilets and showers. The stadig were very helårlig and nice. Really wish they had a kitchen though.

Overall enjoyed my first hostel experience here! Would recommend. Taking the tram into the central part was short walk and easy to navigate.

i travelled here solo; the place is safe and quiet, in a good area of amsterdam, really good connected with the tram. Though, I didn’t really meet new people, nor other solo travellers, since it was pretty empty even on the pride weekend.

Stayokay Amsterdam Oost siger
I think what guests like the most about our hostel is our price and quality. The rooms are clean and safe, there is free Wi-Fi. In our bar you can meet other travellers and play a game of pool or darts. The hostel has a bike rental service, which is a great way to get around the city! Our staff is very experienced and willing to help you find your way around the city. At the reception lots of things are available like towels, tickets for museums and attractions, public transport tickets and the Amsterdam card or City Pass.
Around the hostel there are some interesting things to do and see. For example, there is a cinema next door and a real Dutch windmill in walking distance. This is a good photo stop and it gets even better; it's also a beer brewery! At 'Brouwerij 't IJ' they make their own local Amsterdam beer and of course you can have a taste there on their sunny terrace.
For some culture you can take a short walk to the Royal Tropical Institute (Tropenmuseum). The permanent and temporary exhibitions display (art) objects, photographs, music and film from non-western cultures. Did you know that there are people with over 180 different nationalities living in Amsterdam?
Guests of all ages are welcome in our hostel. Over the last 5 years that the hostel is open, we have welcomed guests from 0 to 88 years. Most guests are between 18 and 30 years old. This is a wheelchair-friendly building and there is an elevator available. There are also several wheelchair-accessible rooms available for people with special needs or disabilities.
