Dreamtime Traveller's Rest was rated #1 in Australia and #2 in Oceania at the 2011 Hoscars and it's not difficult to see why. This hostel has a cosy, relaxed and home-like atmosphere with a pool and BBQ area set in a tropical oasis. It's located across the road from Cairns Central railway station and shopping centre, about 15 minutes' walk from the Esplanade and the lagoon. Hostelworld guests say the staff are 'really friendly, helpful and full of information' and that 'because the common area is so nice, it is easy to meet people hanging out there’.
