Tucked away in the mountainous Nuwara Eliya, you'll find the most social hostel in Sri Lanka. The beds are comfy, the beer is cheap, the food is delicious and the nights are long! Laughing Leopard is the perfect hostel to meet backpackers from around the world. From the minute you arrive, you'll feel part of a crazy family.
The hosts will go out of their way to provide you with an amazing experience. They'll tell you exactly what to do and where to go to make the most of your time here.
By day, you can enjoy the bright communal space and get chatting over a delicious home-cooked Sri Lankan breakfast. In the evening, unwind and feel at home with a friendly family dinner.

Their gorgeous dogs are excellent to cuddle with when it gets a bit chilly in the evening. On top of this, the hostel also boasts the best hot water in Sri Lanka - and it's not wrong! Trust us, you'll appreciate a hot shower when the sun goes down!
Be warned, by night, things can get a little wild! Prepare for drinking, dancing, craziness and true adventure. See you there!

15 minutes hike from town, but it was a really nice place. The common area was great, and it was fully booked with nice people, so the atmosphere was perfect! A nice place to find someone to share a tour with.
The 10-persons dorm was very damp and everything was a little wet all the time. It is not the greatest facilities, but it is a really nice place if you are looking for a place with a nice atmosphere.

This was one of my favorite hostels ever! The staff are super chill and make the check in process simple. We were in our rooms 30 seconds after arriving! Breakfast and dinner is Sri Lankan food and sooo good. The hostel has beers and drinks available for a good price, and even decent coffee and cappuccinos! The vibes here are perfect and there is lots of socializing in the evenings. The only downside was the cleanliness, it could’ve been a bit cleaner in the common area, kitchen and bathrooms!

Hot showers, lovely lovely people, great backpacker vibes, good food and clean rooms - what more could you ask for.
When we come back to Nuwara Eliya we will definitely be coming back to Laughing Leopard!
Slight caution : party hostel to the core, so be prepared ! 🤪
