Apart from the comfortable stay, Black Tomato offers a restaurant 'Black Tomato Kitchen' which offers a menu based on local traditions of Georgian-Jewish district, where the hostel and restaurant are located.
The vintage interior design is bringing new life to the old furniture from local homes.

The best hostel I visited in Georgia. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Location is very good. It was easy to connect with other travellers here. The beds with privacy curtains were the best ones i have had in hostels so far!

We had a great time at black tomato. Lovely beds with plenty of privacy, very close to the center and a nice area for drinks. Would recommend if visiting Kutaisi!

In general, it was a very nice hostel. Unfortunately the kitchen was not usable and also the sanitary facilities were rather few for many people.
Although the staff was very friendly and gave good tips for restaurants, they told me the wrong time for the bus to the airport. Instead of the 5 Lari for the bus I had to pay 25 Lari for a taxi and I got almost late to the airport. This is annoying and must not happen in a hostel that offers to organize the transfer to the airport.
