I really recommend staying at Hekerua Lodge. I had a super time staying there - it offers a very cozy and welcoming atmosphere, great surroundings and friendly staff.

Whaieke Island was lovely. The hostel not so much...loud music being played most days/evenings until early hours of the morning some days. Hot water was turned off too stop guests from having hot showers - apparently there were water shortages. Hostel seemed overbooked. I noticed the male owner was rude to guests. Female manager was kind and welcoming. I checked out a day early because of the noise levels and lack of proper sleep.

Had the absolute best 4 day stay at Hekerua lodge! Everyone was so welcoming and you become part of that family within a short time which makes it hard to leave. Whenever I go to waiheke in the future I will definitely be staying there! Thank you Hekerua team ♥️
