Hostelling International Boston ? Chinatown is a new hostel, just opened in June 2012 in a great central location near Boston Common, Chinatown, the subway and most of the city?s sights. This clean, modern and purpose-built hostel offers personal lights and power sockets at each bed and a ?great atmosphere and lots of kitchen and common space for socialising, cooking, playing games or doing work on the free Wi-Fi?, according to one Hostelworld user. We like that this hostel is actively environmentally friendly.

Hostelling International Boston opened its doors in June 2012. Centrally located, we have easy access public transit, although we are an easy 10-15 minute walk to just about anything you would want to see downtown Boston!
Designed for the modern hosteller, our dorm rooms feature locker units that provides privacy, personal shelves, a reading light and power outlets. We offer male, female, and coed dorms that range in size.
Individual bathrooms are located just outside each room in the hallway. All guests receive complimentary linens, pillows, and towel. Bathrooms are equipped with hair dryers and soap. Our private rooms have an en-suite bath and television. Guests also have access to free Wi-Fi. Hostel commons spaces include TV room, laundry facilities and guest lounge with furniture spaced for physical distancing.
Our lobby features a coffee bar and baked goods.

Upside:
Spacious rooms, clean and nice with own light and plugs. Great location!
Bathrooms were big and clean. Many on each floor.
Basic breakfast included: bread, jam and coffee, but it works!
Downsides:
Sleeping next to the window was extremely cold and there are no social activities in the hostel.
Reception has to let you in from the desk to the rooms area, doesn't seem like the lost secure. But overall nice hostel.

The employees are very nice. The common spaces are very nice too. The dorm rooms are not very nice however, the beds are very uncomfortable and there’s no privacy (such as curtains in front of the beds). The bathrooms were also unclean and smelled
