Temporary changes at YHA National Forest
This hostel offers private rooms with en-suite or allocated sole-use bathrooms.
For the foreseeable future, the following facilities will not likely be in operation at YHA York, although we’re working hard to open these safely as soon as we can:
Self-catering kitchen
Lounge
Dining room
Drying room
Meeting room
Luggage room/stores
Dorm rooms
Bar
Dorms are not currently available but we’re working hard to re-introduce them.
We will be serving a limited food and drinks menu for guests to take away.
YHA National Forest is an eco-friendly building harvesting rainwater for our toilets, the sun’s rays for our hot water and sustainably sourced local timber for our biomass heating system. The property houses 23 en-suite rooms in a mixture of 3, 4 and 5 bed configurations across two floors. We have three accessible rooms and a conference room.
Learn the story of the National Forest on our murals and enjoy a bite in our restaurant. Our 4-star hostel includes a well-equipped bike shed, ample parking and loads of space to play and sit outside.

Cozy lounge area with good sofas. The kitchen was rather small and needed more supplies for cooking. The room was fine though a little smelly when we first arrived. The bathroom nearest to our room was not very clean, had a lot of spiders and cold water in the shower. Only one toilet and shower to about eight rooms. The staff was nice but you had to wait at the desk for minutes.

Specially staff were amazing and very helpful. Room, bedding and the bed are cozy, clean and comfortable but toilet was bit dirty and unclean. Overall I will give you 🌟🌟🌟🌟
