Room2Board is just steps away from the beach and walking distance to the center of the vibrant surf town of Jaco. It was designed to have the social atmosphere and affordability of a traditional hostel and surf school along with the amenities and style of a boutique hotel.
Whether you come to meet new friends or learn to surf, R2B provides the optimal atmosphere and necessary tools to start any adventure off right! Come catch a flick in the movie room, swim in the pool, and grab a cerveza on our rooftop and watch the sunset over the ocean from a rocking chair or hammock. Yoga classes are offered twice daily during the week and once on Saturday and Sunday.
We cater to the solo traveler as well as large groups. We have surf and SUP packages to meet all of your needs. Choose between en-suite private rooms, shared rooms or dorm style rooms. Dine family style with new friends at our restaurant or feel free to cook in our communal kitchen.
We offer free wi-fi in our common areas, laundry service, luggage and surfboard storage, tour office, surf board rentals and lessons, cinema room, fooseball tables, community kitchen, and a great pura vida vibe.
Cancellation policy: 48h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
Check in from 14:00.
Check out before 11:00.
Our reception desk will be open from 6 am to 11 pm
Payment upon arrival by cash.
Taxes not included.
Breakfast not included.
No curfew.
We do not accept customers younger than 14 years of age.
Non smoking.
Pets are not allowed.
$10/room additional for AC when not included (included in rooms 1A & 1B from 9PM-7 AM and in rooms 1C, 205a and b and 206a and b).

I really liked this place. It's very similar to a hotel, so if you're looking for a more lowkey place to stay, then this is not the place, but then Jaco in general may not be your cup of tea. The hostel was large, clean, had good facilities (pool, Very easy beach access, restaurant, bar, air conditioning, a workspace, good wifi (not always accesible in the furthest part of the room though), and nice clean room and showers. You are also provided with towels, soap ect. I had a verycomfortable stay

Total disaster. We were not allowed to get in. The gates where closed and the security guy had no notice of our confirmed booking. We never got the money back.

The hostel may be good in peak season however do not go in non-peak times. There were as many ‘volunteers’ as there were people staying, and all seemed to have a degree in unhelpful and patronising customer service - felt a bit like high school with a clique we weren’t in as they were almost all particularly unfriendly and unwelcoming. We stayed 2 nights and for 24 hours there was no water although no one told us that it was out we just had to figure it out for ourselves - this meant toilets didn’t flush an
