Denman Island is truly a refreshing view of alternative living. My world has no franchises, I cant buy a lottery ticket. Denman's passionate about growing food , loves to be creative and we play lots of music. The Guesthouse/hostel is your starting point for fun and adventure. It has been said that The Earth Club Factory is a step back in time, a West Coast Gulf Island hippy vibe.

Short but nice stay! My partner and I met a few other travelers but we're pretty beat from a busy day so we went to bed early. Nice room, good little experience! Breakfast was really good as well!

Funky hippy vibes at this hostel/cafe/garden. The water tower dorm was awesome. Only concern - you couldn’t lock the door when you were inside the room. But Denman feels very safe so I wasn’t too worried. The kitchen had everything you needed, plus the cafe had tasty snacks to buy. As the site mentions, the tap water does have a sulphur smell... Overall a funky gulf island hostel with friendly owners.

Definitely a FUN place to stay loved it!!! But I do feel it could benefit from a good deep clean (perhaps even some replacement of beds, and other basics). Regardless I would stay again as I love the vibe, and the people you can meet there! My family was not as crazy about the experience (put off by the septic which required a trash can next to the toilet,perhaps a different container would help) & would ask for a deep clean before returning. The food was AMAZING (especially the baked goods)
