Rope Walk Guest House is a heritage pre-war mansion located in the middle of Georgetown. 5~10mins walking distance to all UNESCO sites, street arts, cafes, food courts, night market, main bus terminal to/from airport as well as the Ferry terminal to/from Langkawi and Butterworth.
The building was re-renovated in May '17 to enhance the facilities such as additional common toilet and bathrooms, laundry place, common seating area and moon lit air-wells. Much effort has been made to green the property with plants.
With the extension of our dormitorio and cafe, we truly hope that the concept will add value to the services our travelers are paying for. A small selected crew will assist and make your stay with us as homely and lengthy as possible. Our doors are open to any adventurous and hip traveler seeking a pleasant stay in Georgetown, Penang.

lovely place to stay 🫡
didn’t see much of the staff tho and the lack of a kitchen is frustrating to say the least, as well as the place is in the middle of renovations is slightly annoying.
really good value for cash tho, possibly the e cheapest place in georgetown.
would stay again 😋

It’s nice place but i recommend for the management to put a small box next to each bed , that’s will help to drop all the small things in it while you sleep

We had a really great stay at Rope Walk Hostel. The location is perfect for exploring Penang- walking distance to Armenian Street, Jetty Food Court, and the ferry terminal etc. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the hostel was very clean. A little bit quiet on the first few nights, and was the only female traveller in the dorm. This picked up on the last night however and was not a big issue. But maybe not the most social hostel if that is what you are after. Overall, a great stay!
