Matilori is surrounded by two mango trees and the amazing Costa Rica wildlife where you can see iguanas, monkeys and hummingbirds. In the 2 community kitchens you'll find everything you need, even free cafe in the morning. Since last year we also have a sofa lodge with TV, books, games and an outside BBQ. Its easy to get social and meet other travelers by participation in game nights, community BBQ's or by joining one of the various hostel tours to explore the surrounding areas.

We have 3 double rooms, 1 four-bed dorm and 1 six-bed dorm, all with shared bathroom and hot shower. The bright and friendly rooms are all well equipped with fans, cupboards and lockers.

We had a very nice stay at Matilori, and after 2 days we choose to extend our stay. The staff was so nice and helpful with everything from tours, to playing dices and card in the evening.
The house is located just 1-2 minutes from the beach and the main street. Matilori has a really nice and calm atmosphere. We would definitely stay there again if we went to Playa Samara.

Lovely location with amazing welcoming staff. Very social with a big communal table to socialise during the day and in the evenings. Also spaces for quiet relaxing.
